Energy Solutions International, LLC was founded mid-2007 by Chris Maddern. A young entrepreneur with experience in management and business consulting, Chris had grown increasingly concerned with the alarming amount of waste he observed with everything from paper to electricity to gas to water. This was particularly worrying given the volatility of the global commodities market. Shortly thereafter Chris met Robert Howard, PE. A mechanical engineer with more than 30 years of experience, Robert had worked on efficiency projects everywhere from New York City offices to DC General Hospital in the nation’s capital. The two shared a deep interest in reducing energy use, and a belief that, even as a majority of corporations and individuals in the United States and abroad have expressed an interest in efficiently managing their consumption, many are unsure of where to begin. Energized by an entrepreneurial spirit, ESI has been working with building owners and office managers around the country to limit their energy use and expenditures. Through building survey, project management or financing, Energy Solutions is able to tailor any project in any location around the world.

Through the use of strategic, interdisciplinary partnerships Energy Solutions International, LLC is able to implement cost-effective opportunities that provide immediate results and rapid payback. We work directly with our clients to identify strategies covering every aspect of sustainability and building efficiency, ensuring that our solutions do not hinder the core business of our clients. When implemented, these projects are little to no cost for our clients, and are paid with the energy savings that is accrued. This means that after these projects pay themselves off our clients are still able to receive years of continual benefit.
